River Pointe Country Club first opened for play in 1974.
River Pointe Country Club club added nine new holes in 1998, giving it three nine hole courses that can be played in three eighteen hole combinations. The "new nine" called the Pointe Course, incorporates water on all nine holes as well as many out-of-bounds areas. The design is tight and places an emphasis on shot accuracy. The signature hole on the Pointe Course is #5, a 170-yard, par 3, which requires a tee shot over water to a small green that has another lake behind it and sand bunkers on three sides.
The original Pines/Ponds Course is wide open and best known for its large greens. There are several sand bunkers incorporated into the course design, and water hazards come into play on several holes. The signature hole is #9 on the Ponds Course, a 420-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over water from an elevated tee box to a fairway bordered by a large lake, then an approach shot to a well-bunkered green.
Any 18-hole combination at River Pointe Country Club plays to a par-72 and over 6,400 yards.
River Pointe Country Club reopened as a public course on April 16, 2010.
GolfVisions Management Inc. on Monday afternoon April 12, 2010 was granted receivership of the facility, including the golf course, restaurant and pool, through a mortgage foreclosure.
"The facility will be operated by my company through the bank," GolfVisions CEO and President Tim Miles Sr. said. The former owners and board of directors no longer will be involved, Miles said.

River Pointe has gone public. Played 27 holes today at a great price. If Golf Vision can keep this course in the condition it was today, it will be one of the best values in MW Indiana. The layout was exceptional, the mix of par 3's, par 4's and par 5's were great, and the greens were fast and tricky. The only negative at this time would be the course is fairly flat. Due to the recent rains, the rough was difficult and the fairways a little ragged. I'm sure this will be taken care of in the near future. Our group rated this a 8.5 out of 10. We'll be back soon.

My senior friends normally play this course at least a couple of times each year. The course is fun to play and challenging. Rates are great for seniors and others with multitude of coupons. As a result of scheduling, pace is terrible and too many playing within short amount of time. We still enjoy the course and it is a bargain with quality and conditions.
